Why invest in
antiques?

If
you have decided that stocks and shares are too volatile and that
you would prefer to buy tangible items you can see and touch, what
should you do?

Investing in art and antiques can be a profitable business with the
added advantage that you can enjoy their beauty while you own them.
Remember that in the medium to long term, most good quality art and
antiques do appreciate in value. Antiques have been a good
investment for most people and, almost certainly, will continue to
be so.

Do the math. In 33 years an average antique has increased by a
factor of 33.5 percent while the average stock has gone up by a
factor of 19 percent. Over the long haul, antiques look a pretty
good bet. Perhaps stocks are not the best comparison. Our other big
investment is our house. And houses have done better than stocks,
but not quite as well as antiques. House prices have increased by a
factor of 28.5 percent, which is 5 percent less than antiques.
Empire Antiques will work with you to create an investment quality
collection.
